Dr Arti Rani
Dr Arti Rani completed her Masters and M Phil from HPU Shimla. She joined the Department of Biotechnology at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh for pursuing her PhD under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Kumar in 2002, and worked on ‘Cloning and characterization of genes of flavonoid pathway in Camellia sinensis (Tea). In 2008, she joined the Vittal Mallya Scientific Research Foundation (VMSRF), Bangalore, as a scientist. Over 12 years, Dr Arti executed projects as Principal Investigator, funded by the Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology (both, Government of India) in the field of Functional Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics and Metabolomics. Dr Arti Rani has twenty-four international publications and patents. The technology of patents is transferred to Merck and Phyto Biotech Pvt Ltd, Kolkata.
Dr Arti Rani joined IBAB in March 2022. Her areas of interest include functional genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics of medicinal plants and yeast engineering for the production of high value products.
