Advertisement for the position of ICMR-funded Project JRF at IBAB

Applications are invited for the position of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in an ICMR funded project in the structural bioinformatics group at IBAB, Bengaluru

Project Title: Computational analysis of missense mutations associated with genetically inherited rare diseases.

Project Description: The project aims to integrate multiple approaches available in the realm of genotype – phenotype correlation using machine learning methods.  The successful candidate will develop a meta predictor by developing codes to integrate, machine learning. The study also will involve drug discovery, molecular simulations, binding energy calculations and a full stack webserver development.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Information or Life Sciences with at least 55 % marks or 6 CGPA from recognized institutes.
• Successfully cleared CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship), GATE or other National level exams conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies as well as Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
• While training will be provided, experience in computer programming, databases and web-frameworks will be given preference. Experience in protein structure analysis will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to learn and being a good team-player.

Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be eligible for a fellowship of ₹31,000 plus HRA as per ICMR or IBAB norms. The selected candidate can avail on-campus accommodation at IBAB.
