This was a workshop on the Analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing Data/ Participants of the workshop were the students of the BiSEP PG Diplomas in Clinical Research & Data Management from PES University and Bioinformatics & Big Data Analytics from Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT). The different modules of the workshop were lead jointly by Dr Abhilash Mohan, Dr Sreekanth Reddy, Ms Afiya Chida and Ms Linu. Ms Venitha Bernard was the teaching assistant. The first day the students were given hands-on session on the various linux commands followed by an introduction to the R programming language. The second day the students were given a tour of the BioIT facility and were given hands-on training in library quantification and quality check. The afternoon session was dedicated to RNA sequencing data analysis using state-of-the art protocols. Overall, the workshop was well appreciated by both the students and the faculty members of the participating institutes.
