Hands-on-Workshop on NGS data analysis – RNA-sequencing and small RNA-sequencing
IBAB is organising a hands-on workshop on the analysis of sequencing data from RNA-sequencing and small RNA-sequencing experiments from the 21st to the 23rd of June 2018.
The primary focus of the workshop is to give an in-depth understanding of the current methods in the analysis of data from Next Generation Sequencing and the pipelines and tools used in the analysis of RNA-sequencing and small RNA-sequencing data.
The workshop has been planned to provide the participants, a complete hands-on experience on the tools used to analyse the data. Invited lectures from experts in the field of genomics will be a part of the workshop.
This course is aimed at faculty, post-doctoral fellows, researchers and technicians who wish to employ RNA-sequencing or small RNA-sequencing NGS methods in their work. Ph.D. students/Post Doctoral Fellows/JRFs/SRFs/faculty involved in relevant research are eligible to apply. The participants are encouraged to bring their laptops which may be useful for downstream processing and visualization of the data.

About Bio-IT Centre:
The Bio-IT research and training centre (Bio-IT Centre) has been established at IBAB in 2010 under a public-private partnership with grant-in-aid from the DeitY, Government of India and the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka. Bio-IT Centre has state-of-art facility for NGS with the high throughput sequencer Hi Seq 2500, Hi-Scan (illumina bead-array) for genotyping and Ion-torrent and other accessories such as Qubit, C-bot, Covaris and Tape-station etc for processing DNA and RNA samples. IBAB has recently taken full charge of the Centre and its operations.
The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) is a unique institute engaged in education, research and entrepreneur support programs and is based at Electronic City, Bengaluru. IBAB’s mission is to catalyze the growth of the biotechnology and bioinformatics industries in India. IBAB offers a distinctive master degree program with dual specialization in bioinformatics and applied biotechnology and an interdisciplinary PhD program. The institute has strong research programs in various disciplines as evidenced by the publication track record of the Faculty. It has excellent infrastructure and environment suitable for advanced research. For more details, please visit www.ibab.ac.in
